Man falls to his death at Carlton construction site

A man died when he fell 20 metres down a lift shaft at a construction site in Carlton yesterday.

It is understood the man, in his early 50s, was working on a wooden platform inside the lift shaft when the platform failed and he fell to the ground. He died at the scene.

WorkSafe is investigating.

The tragedy is the fourth workplace fatality this year.
